Rainbowfishes

Goliad Farms, LP raises a large and growing variety of healthy, well-conditioned rainbowfishes in our indoor, climate-controlled facilities. For general information concerning rainbowfishes, click here.

Below is a table listing the rainbowfishes Goliad Farms produces or grows out. Click on the name of a species/variety for specific information about that particular species/variety. We have chosen to use common names in the contents bar since these are the names that most tropical fish hobbyists are familiar with, but, we have included the scientific name in parentheses after the common name. We have chosen to use the common names used by "Dr. Axelrod's ATLAS of Freshwater Aquarium Fishes" since it is as close to being ubiquitous as any other aquarium hobby book. In reference to scientific names, as with all hobbyists, we struggle to keep up with the seemingly constant reclassification of tropical fish. So, bear with us on scientific names. We attempt to use consensus names, but we can't always keep up with the changes.

All scientific names (genus and species) are in italic fonts. Common names are in a non-italic font. If the scientific name is omitted, then we are not sure of the scientific identification of the fish.
