Goliad Farms, Inc. raises  African cichlids, New World cichlids, rainbowfishes, fancy and wild livebearers, Goodeids, barbs, anabantids, killifish, danios and minnows, tetras, characins and rasboras, rainbowfishes, livebearers (mollies, platies, swordtails, guppies, Limia, and Goodeids), and killifish.

In order to offer for sale a larger line of freshwater fishes to our customers, we sometimes buy "grow out" fish from collectors and other breeder partners. Many fish spawn with greater success in water conditions that we cannot easily meet at our hatchery. For these fish we contract with partners to spawn the fish for us. We then receive the fish once they are large enough to ship for growing out. Such grow out fish are offered for sale only after we condition and "grow them out" to achieve larger sizes and improved color and health. Many fish that spawn only in soft acidic waters actually grow and mature better in hard, alkaline conditions as provided by our hatchery.
